Biblical Significance of Mount Nebo

Mount Nebo, also called Pisgah, holds profound significance as Moses' final earthly location. After leading Israel for 40 years through the wilderness, Moses climbed this mountain to see the land he would never enter due to his earlier disobedience at Meribah. God showed him the entire Promised Land before Moses died there. The mystery of his burial place, known only to God, prevented his grave from becoming an idol.
