Read Amos Chapter 2

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

This is what the LORD says: "For three sins of Moab, and for four, I will not turn back their punishment. They burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime."

"So I will send a fire on Moab, and it will eat up the palaces of Kerioth. Moab will die in uproar, with shouting and the sound of the trumpet."

"I will cut off the judge from among them, and I will kill all their princes with him," says the LORD.

This is what the LORD says: "For three sins of Judah, and for four, I will not turn back their punishment. They have despised the law of the LORD and have not kept his commandments. Their lies led them astray, the same lies their fathers followed."

"So I will send a fire on Judah, and it will eat up the palaces of Jerusalem."

This is what the LORD says: "For three sins of Israel, and for four, I will not turn back their punishment. They sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes."

"They long to see the dust of the earth on the head of the poor. They push the meek out of the way. A man and his father go in to the same girl, and so make my holy name unclean."

"They lie down beside every altar on clothes taken as a pledge. In the house of their god they drink the wine of those they have fined."

"Yet I destroyed the Amorite in front of them. He was as tall as the cedars and as strong as the oaks. I destroyed his fruit above and his roots below."

"I also brought you up out of the land of Egypt. I led you forty years through the desert, so that you could take the land of the Amorite."

"I raised up some of your sons to be prophets, and some of your young men to be Nazarites. Is this not so, people of Israel?" says the LORD.

"But you gave the Nazarites wine to drink. You commanded the prophets, saying, 'Do not prophesy.'"

"Look, I am weighed down under you, as a cart is weighed down when it is full of sheaves."

"So the swift will not escape. The strong will not keep up his strength, and the mighty man will not save his own life."

"The one who handles the bow will not stand his ground. The one who is quick on his feet will not save himself, and the one who rides the horse will not save himself."

"On that day even the bravest of the mighty men will run away naked," says the LORD.
