2 Timothy 2 - Summary

Original Summary

Read 2 Timothy Chapter 2 Summary

Paul exhorts Timothy to be strong in grace, to commit what he has heard to faithful men who can teach others, to endure hardship as a good soldier (avoiding civilian entanglements), to compete lawfully as an athlete, and to labor first as a farmer expecting harvest. He reminds Timothy to remember Jesus Christ risen from the dead, of David's seed, for which Paul suffers bound as a criminal while God's word is not bound; the trustworthy saying affirms that if we died with Him we shall live with Him; Timothy must avoid quarreling, gently instructing opponents in hope of repentance.
