1 Samuel 19 - Summary

Saul commands Jonathan and servants to kill David, but Jonathan warns David and intercedes, reminding Saul how David killed Goliath and saved Israel; Saul swears David will not be put to death. After another victory, the harmful spirit comes on Saul and he hurls his spear at David, who escapes home; Michal helps David flee through a window, putting household gods in the bed to delay pursuit. David flees to Samuel at Ramah; when Saul sends messengers to Naioth, the Spirit of God comes upon them and they prophesy; this happens to three groups, then to Saul himself, who strips his clothes, prophesies before Samuel, and lies naked all day and night - reviving the proverb, 'Is Saul also among the prophets?'
