Read Titus Chapter 3

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

Remind them to be under rulers and authorities, to obey those in charge, and to be ready to do every good work.

Tell them to speak evil of no one, and not to quarrel, but to be gentle, showing all meekness to everyone.

For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, and led astray. We were slaves to many kinds of desires and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy. We were hated, and we hated one another.

But then the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward people appeared.

He saved us, not because of works of righteousness that we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us by the washing of new birth, and by the renewing of the Holy Spirit,

which he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Saviour.

So, having been made righteous by his grace, we should become heirs, with the hope of eternal life.

This is a faithful saying. I want you to keep insisting on these things, so that those who have believed in God will take care to give themselves to good works. These things are good and useful for people.

But stay away from foolish arguments, and family lists, and quarrels and fights about the law. They are useless and empty.

A man who causes division you should reject, after warning him once and then a second time.

You know that such a person has gone wrong and is sinning. He condemns himself.

When I send Artemas to you, or Tychicus, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.

Take care to send Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey, so that they lack nothing.

And let our people also learn to give themselves to good works, to meet urgent needs, so that they are not without fruit.

All who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen. «It was written to Titus, ordained the first bishop of the church of the Cretians, from Nicopolis of Macedonia.»
