Ruth 3 - Summary

Naomi devises a plan for Ruth to seek marriage with Boaz, instructing her to wash, anoint herself, and go to the threshing floor where Boaz will winnow barley by night. Ruth follows her mother-in-law's counsel, uncovering Boaz's feet and lying down until he awakens at midnight and discovers her presence. When Ruth requests that Boaz spread his garment over her as a kinsman-redeemer, he praises her virtue and pledges to fulfill the role if a nearer kinsman declines, sending her home before dawn with six measures of barley.
