Read Psalms Chapter 83

A song and psalm of Asaph.

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

Do not keep silent, O God. Do not hold your peace. Do not be still, O God.

Look, your enemies are making an uproar. Those who hate you have lifted up their heads.

They have made sly plans against your people. They have plotted against those you keep hidden.

They have said, "Come, let us cut them off, so they are no longer a nation. Let the name of Israel be remembered no more."

For they have plotted together with one mind. They have made a league against you:

the tents of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagarenes;

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the people of Tyre.

Assur also has joined with them. They have helped the children of Lot. Selah.

Do to them as you did to the Midianites, as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison.

They died at Endor. They became like dung on the ground.

Make their nobles like Oreb and like Zeeb. Make all their princes like Zebah and like Zalmunna.

They said, "Let us take the houses of God for ourselves."

O my God, make them like a rolling wheel, like straw before the wind.

As fire burns a forest, and as flame sets the mountains on fire,

so chase them with your tempest, and make them afraid with your storm.

Fill their faces with shame, so that they may seek your name, O LORD.

Let them be confused and troubled for ever. Let them be put to shame and perish,

so that people may know that you, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, are the Most High over all the earth.
