OriginalSimple EnglishSimpleNew Summary

Read Psalms Chapter 62

For the leader of the music, for Jeduthun. A psalm of David.

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

1Truly my soul waits for God. My salvation comes from him.

2He alone is my rock and my salvation. He is my defence. I shall not be greatly shaken.

3How long will you plot harm against a man? You will all be killed. You will be like a leaning wall, like a fence about to fall.

4They plan only to throw him down from his high place. They delight in lies. With their mouth they bless, but inside they curse. Selah.

5My soul, wait for God alone, for my hope comes from him.

6He alone is my rock and my salvation. He is my defence. I shall not be shaken.

7My salvation and my glory are in God. The rock of my strength and my refuge are in God.

8Trust in him at all times. You people, pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Selah.

9Surely people of low rank are nothing, and people of high rank are a lie. Laid in the scales, together they weigh less than a breath.

10Do not trust in oppression. Do not put empty hope in robbery. If riches increase, do not set your heart on them.

11God has spoken once; twice I have heard this: that power belongs to God.

12To you also, O Lord, belongs mercy, for you repay everyone according to what he has done.
