The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and my foes, they stumbled and fell.
Though an army camps against me, my heart will not fear. Though war rises against me, even then I will be confident.
One thing I have asked of the LORD, and that is what I will seek: to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to look on the beauty of the LORD, and to ask in his temple.
For in the time of trouble he will hide me in his shelter. In the secret place of his tent he will hide me; he will set me high upon a rock.
Now my head will be lifted up above my enemies all around me. So in his tent I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.
Hear me, LORD, when I cry out with my voice. Have mercy on me, and answer me.
When you said, "Seek my face," my heart said to you, "Your face, LORD, I will seek."
Do not hide your face from me. Do not turn your servant away in anger. You have been my help; do not leave me, and do not forsake me, O God of my salvation.
When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
Teach me your way, LORD, and lead me on a level path, because of my enemies.
Do not hand me over to the will of my enemies. For false witnesses have risen up against me, and they breathe out cruelty.
I would have lost heart, if I had not believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD. Be strong, and he will give your heart courage. Wait, I say, for the LORD.
