Psalms 28 - Simple English

OriginalSimple EnglishSimpleNew Summary

Read Psalms Chapter 28

A psalm of David.

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

1To you I will cry, O LORD my rock. Do not be silent to me. If you are silent to me, I become like those who go down into the pit.

2Hear the voice of my pleading, when I cry to you, when I lift up my hands toward your holy place.

3Do not drag me away with the wicked, and with those who do evil. They speak peace to their neighbours, but harm is in their hearts.

4Give them what their deeds deserve, and what the wickedness of their doings deserves. Give them what their hands have made. Pay them back what is due to them.

5They pay no attention to the works of the LORD, nor to what his hands have done. So he will pull them down and not build them up.

6Blessed be the LORD, because he has heard the voice of my pleading.

7The LORD is my strength and my shield. My heart trusted in him, and I am helped. So my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise him.

8The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed one.

9Save your people, and bless those who are your inheritance. Feed them also, and carry them for ever.
