Hear what is right, O LORD, listen to my cry. Give ear to my prayer, for it does not come from lying lips.
Let my judgment come from your presence. Let your eyes see what is fair.
You have tested my heart. You have come to me in the night. You have tried me, and you will find nothing. I have decided that my mouth will not do wrong.
As for the deeds of people, by the word of your lips I have kept myself from the paths of the destroyer.
Hold up my steps in your paths, so that my feet do not slip.
I have called on you, for you will answer me, O God. Turn your ear to me, and hear my words.
Show your wonderful love, you who save by your right hand those who trust in you, saving them from those who rise up against them.
Keep me as the apple of your eye. Hide me under the shadow of your wings,
away from the wicked who crush me, away from my deadly enemies who surround me.
They are closed up in their own fat. With their mouth they speak proudly.
They have now surrounded us at every step. They fix their eyes to throw us down to the ground.
He is like a lion hungry for its prey, like a young lion crouching in secret places.
Rise up, O LORD, face him, throw him down. Save my soul from the wicked, who is your sword.
Save me from men who are your hand, O LORD, from men of this world, whose share is in this life. You fill their belly with your hidden treasure. They have many children, and they leave what is left of their goods to their little ones.
As for me, I will see your face in righteousness. When I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.
