1Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD, my soul.
2While I live I will praise the LORD. I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist.
3Do not put your trust in princes, or in any son of man, for there is no help in him.
4His breath goes out, and he goes back to his earth. On that very day his plans perish.
5Happy is the one who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God.
6He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps truth for ever.
7He gives justice to the oppressed. He gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets the prisoners free.
8The LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are bowed down. The LORD loves the righteous.
9The LORD watches over the strangers. He helps the fatherless and the widow. But he turns the way of the wicked upside down.
10The LORD will reign for ever, your God, Zion, through all generations. Praise the LORD.
