Read Psalms Chapter 143

A psalm of David.

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

Hear my prayer, O LORD. Listen to my pleading. In your faithfulness answer me, and in your righteousness.

Do not bring your servant to judgment, for in your sight no one living is righteous.

The enemy has hunted me down. He has crushed my life to the ground. He has made me live in darkness, like those who died long ago.

So my spirit is overwhelmed within me. My heart within me is empty.

I remember the days long past. I think about all your works. I consider what your hands have made.

I stretch out my hands to you. My soul thirsts for you, like a dry land. Selah.

Answer me quickly, O LORD, for my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me, or I will be like those who go down into the pit.

Let me hear of your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Show me the way I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you.

Rescue me, O LORD, from my enemies. I run to you to hide me.

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Your spirit is good. Lead me into the land of uprightness.

Give me life, O LORD, for your name's sake. For the sake of your righteousness, bring my soul out of trouble.

In your mercy cut off my enemies, and destroy all those who trouble my soul, for I am your servant.
