Psalms 127 - Simple English

OriginalSimple EnglishSimpleNew Summary

Read Psalms Chapter 127

A song for the journey up to Jerusalem, for Solomon.

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

1Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labour for nothing. Unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake for nothing.

2It is useless for you to get up early and to stay up late, and to eat the bread of sorrows. For so he gives his beloved sleep.

3Look, children are a heritage from the LORD. The fruit of the womb is his reward.

4Like arrows in the hand of a strong man, so are the children of one's youth.

5Happy is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be ashamed, but they will speak with their enemies in the gate.
