The LORD spoke to Moses and said,
"Speak to the children of Israel and say to them: If anyone sins without knowing it, and does any of the things which the LORD has commanded must not be done, these are the rules."
"If the priest who is anointed sins, and so brings guilt on the people, then for the sin he has sinned he must bring to the LORD a young bull without any flaw, as a sin offering."
"He must bring the bull to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, before the LORD. He must lay his hand on the bull's head and kill the bull before the LORD."
"The anointed priest must take some of the bull's blood and bring it into the tabernacle of the congregation."
"The priest must dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle some of it seven times before the LORD, in front of the veil of the sanctuary."
"The priest must put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the LORD, which is in the tabernacle of the congregation. Then he must pour out all the rest of the bull's blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation."
"He must take away from the bull of the sin offering all its fat: the fat that covers the inner parts, and all the fat that is on the inner parts,"
"and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them by the flanks, and the covering above the liver, which he must take away along with the kidneys."
"This is done just as the fat is taken off the bull of the peace offerings. The priest must burn these parts on the altar of burnt offering."
"But the skin of the bull, and all its meat, with its head, its legs, its inner parts and its dung,"
"the whole bull, he must carry outside the camp to a clean place, where the ashes are poured out. There he must burn it on wood with fire. It must be burned where the ashes are poured out."
"If the whole congregation of Israel sins without knowing it, and the matter is hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done any of the things which the LORD has commanded must not be done, they are guilty."
"When the sin they have sinned becomes known, then the congregation must offer a young bull for the sin, and bring it in front of the tabernacle of the congregation."
"The elders of the congregation must lay their hands on the bull's head before the LORD, and the bull must be killed before the LORD."
"The anointed priest must bring some of the bull's blood into the tabernacle of the congregation."
"The priest must dip his finger in some of the blood and sprinkle it seven times before the LORD, in front of the veil."
"He must put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before the LORD in the tabernacle of the congregation. Then he must pour out all the rest of the blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation."
"He must take away all its fat and burn it on the altar."
"He must do with this bull just as he did with the bull for the sin offering. So the priest will make atonement for them, and they will be forgiven."
"He must carry the bull outside the camp and burn it as he burned the first bull. It is a sin offering for the congregation."
"When a ruler sins, and without knowing it does any of the things which the LORD his God has commanded must not be done, he is guilty."
"When the sin he has sinned becomes known to him, he must bring his offering, a young male goat without any flaw."
"He must lay his hand on the goat's head and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt offering before the LORD. It is a sin offering."
"The priest must take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering. Then he must pour out its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering."
"He must burn all its fat on the altar, like the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings. So the priest will make atonement for him for his sin, and he will be forgiven."
"If any one of the common people sins without knowing it, by doing any of the things which the LORD has commanded must not be done, he is guilty."
"When the sin he has sinned becomes known to him, he must bring his offering, a young female goat without any flaw, for the sin he has sinned."
"He must lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and kill the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering."
"The priest must take some of its blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering. Then he must pour out all the rest of its blood at the base of the altar."
"He must take away all its fat, just as the fat is taken away from the sacrifice of peace offerings. The priest must burn it on the altar as a sweet smell to the LORD. So the priest will make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven."
"If he brings a lamb for a sin offering, he must bring a female without any flaw."
"He must lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and kill it as a sin offering in the place where they kill the burnt offering."
"The priest must take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering. Then he must pour out all the rest of its blood at the base of the altar."
"He must take away all its fat, just as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of peace offerings. The priest must burn these parts on the altar, with the offerings made by fire to the LORD. So the priest will make atonement for the sin he has committed, and he will be forgiven."
