The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
"Speak to Aaron and to his sons. Tell them to keep away from the holy things of the children of Israel when they are unclean, so that they do not profane my holy name in the things which they set apart for me. I am the LORD."
"Say to them, 'If any man of all your descendants, in all your generations, comes near the holy things which the children of Israel set apart for the LORD while he is unclean, that person shall be cut off from my presence. I am the LORD.'"
"No man of the descendants of Aaron who is a leper, or who has a running discharge, shall eat of the holy things until he is clean. The same is true of anyone who touches something made unclean by a dead body, or a man whose seed flows from him,"
"or anyone who touches any creeping thing that makes him unclean, or touches a person who makes him unclean, whatever his uncleanness may be."
"The person who touches any such thing shall be unclean until evening. He shall not eat of the holy things unless he washes his body with water."
"When the sun has gone down, he shall be clean. After that he may eat of the holy things, because they are his food."
"He shall not eat anything that dies of itself, or is torn by wild animals, and so make himself unclean. I am the LORD."
"So they shall keep what I have commanded, or else they will bear sin for it and die for it, if they profane it. I am the LORD, who makes them holy."
"No stranger shall eat of the holy thing. A guest of the priest, or a hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing."
"But if a priest buys anyone with his money, that person may eat of it, and so may those born in his house. They may eat of his food."
"If a priest's daughter is married to a stranger, she may not eat of the offering of the holy things."
"But if a priest's daughter is a widow, or divorced, and has no child, and has come back to her father's house as when she was young, she may eat of her father's food. But no stranger shall eat of it."
"If a man eats of the holy thing without knowing it, he shall add a fifth part to it, and give it to the priest along with the holy thing."
"They shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer to the LORD,"
"or allow them to bear the guilt of trespass when they eat their holy things. For I am the LORD, who makes them holy."
The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
"Speak to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them, 'Anyone of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, who brings his offering for any of his vows, or for any of his freewill offerings, which they offer to the LORD as a burnt offering,"
'must offer, of his own free will, a male without blemish, from the cattle, the sheep, or the goats.
'You shall not offer anything that has a blemish, for it will not be accepted for you.
'Whoever brings a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD to fulfil a vow, or as a freewill offering from the cattle or the sheep, must bring one that is perfect, so that it may be accepted. There shall be no blemish in it.
'You shall not offer to the LORD anything blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a sore, or scurvy, or scabs. You shall not make an offering of such animals by fire on the altar to the LORD.
'A bull or a lamb that has any part too long or too short you may offer as a freewill offering. But for a vow it will not be accepted.
'You shall not offer to the LORD any animal that is bruised, or crushed, or torn, or cut. You shall not make such an offering in your land.
"'You shall not take any of these from a stranger's hand and offer them as the bread of your God, because they are damaged and have blemishes in them. They will not be accepted for you.'"
The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
"When a bull, or a sheep, or a goat is born, it shall stay seven days with its mother. From the eighth day on it shall be accepted as an offering made by fire to the LORD."
"Whether it is a cow or a ewe, you shall not kill it and its young both on the same day."
"When you offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the LORD, offer it of your own free will."
"It shall be eaten on the same day. You shall leave none of it until the morning. I am the LORD."
"So you shall keep my commandments and do them. I am the LORD."
"You shall not profane my holy name. I will be treated as holy among the children of Israel. I am the LORD who makes you holy,"
"who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. I am the LORD."
