Read Jonah Chapter 2

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from inside the fish.

He said, "In my trouble I cried out to the LORD, and he answered me. From deep inside the grave I cried, and you heard my voice."

"You threw me into the deep, into the middle of the seas. The floods closed around me. All your breakers and your waves went over me."

"Then I said, 'I am driven away from your sight. Yet I will look again toward your holy temple.'"

"The waters closed around me, right up to my soul. The deep was all around me. Weeds were wrapped about my head."

"I went down to the roots of the mountains. The earth shut me in with its bars for ever. Yet you brought my life up from the pit, LORD my God."

"When my soul grew faint inside me, I remembered the LORD. My prayer came to you, into your holy temple."

"Those who cling to worthless lies turn away from the mercy that is theirs."

"But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation belongs to the LORD."

Then the LORD spoke to the fish, and it spat Jonah out onto the dry land.
