Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God, for you have stumbled because of your iniquity. Take words with you, confess that Assyria cannot save and idols cannot help—for in God the orphan finds mercy. God promises to heal their apostasy, love them freely, and be like the dew to Israel; they shall blossom like the lily and take root like Lebanon's cedars. The wise understand these things—the LORD's ways are right.
