Habakkuk 3 - Summary

Habakkuk's prayer-psalm recounts a theophanic vision of God coming from Teman and Mount Paran with glory covering the heavens, brightness like light, and pestilence marching before Him. The cosmic warfare imagery depicts mountains scattering, the sun and moon standing still, and the LORD marching through the earth in indignation to save His people and crush the head of the wicked house. Despite agricultural devastation—no figs, grapes, olives, crops, sheep, or cattle—the prophet resolves to rejoice in the LORD and joy in the God of his salvation, declaring that the LORD God makes his feet like hinds' feet to walk on high places.
