God announces the final plague: at midnight He will pass through Egypt, and every firstborn will die, from Pharaoh's heir to the slave's child and livestock. A great cry will arise throughout Egypt such as has never been nor will be again, yet not even a dog will bark against Israel. Moses declares this distinction will make known that the Lord differentiates between Egypt and Israel, after which Pharaoh's servants will bow and beg them to leave.
