So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ sits at the right hand of God.
Set your heart on things above, not on things on the earth.
For you are dead, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
So put to death the parts of you that belong to the earth: sexual sin, uncleanness, wrong desire, evil longing, and greed, which is idolatry.
Because of these things the anger of God comes on the children of disobedience.
You also walked in these ways once, when you lived in them.
But now you must put all these away: anger, rage, spite, evil speaking, and filthy talk out of your mouth.
Do not lie to one another, since you have taken off the old self with its deeds,
and have put on the new self, which is being made new in knowledge, after the image of the one who created him.
Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, Barbarian, Scythian, slave or free. But Christ is all, and is in all.
So, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, put on a heart of mercy, kindness, a humble mind, gentleness, and patience.
Put up with one another, and forgive one another. If anyone has a complaint against another, forgive as Christ forgave you.
And over all these things put on love, which binds everything together in perfection.
Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, for you were called to this peace in one body. And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ live in you richly, in all wisdom. Teach and warn one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Husbands, love your wives, and do not be bitter against them.
Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord well.
Fathers, do not stir your children to anger, or they will lose heart.
Servants, obey your earthly masters in all things. Do not serve only when they are watching, to please people, but serve with a sincere heart, fearing God.
And whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as for the Lord and not for people,
knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. For you serve the Lord Christ.
But whoever does wrong will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no favouring of persons.
