1 Corinthians 13 - Summary

In the celebrated love chapter, Paul declares that without love, even the most spectacular gifts (tongues of angels, prophetic knowledge, mountain-moving faith, sacrificial generosity) profit nothing. He describes love's characteristics (patient, kind, not envious or boastful, not seeking its own, bearing and hoping all things) and its permanence, contrasting it with gifts that will cease when the perfect comes, concluding that love is the greatest of the abiding triad of faith, hope, and love.
