Read 1 Chronicles Chapter 20

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

When the year had ended, at the time when kings go out to battle, Joab led out the strength of the army. He ruined the country of the children of Ammon, and came and laid siege to Rabbah. But David stayed in Jerusalem. Joab attacked Rabbah and destroyed it.

David took the crown of their king from his head. He found that it weighed a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it. It was set on David's head. He also brought a very great amount of plunder out of the city.

He brought out the people who were in it, and cut them with saws, and with iron tools, and with axes. David did the same to all the cities of the children of Ammon. Then David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

After this, war broke out at Gezer with the Philistines. At that time Sibbechai the Hushathite killed Sippai, who was one of the children of the giant, and they were brought down.

There was war with the Philistines again. Elhanan the son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear shaft was like a weaver's beam.

There was war at Gath yet again. There was a man there of great size, whose fingers and toes were twenty-four, six on each hand and six on each foot. He also was the son of the giant.

When he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea, David's brother, killed him.

These were born to the giant in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.
