Zephaniah 3 - Summary

Original Summary

Read Zephaniah Chapter 3 Summary

Woe is pronounced upon the oppressing city Jerusalem, whose princes are roaring lions, judges evening wolves, prophets treacherous, and priests profane the sanctuary—yet the righteous LORD in her midst does no wrong and faithfully brings His justice to light each morning. Despite witnessing the LORD cut off nations and make their streets waste, the corrupt city refused correction and rose early to corrupt all their doings. The eschatological reversal promises that after judgment's purging fire, the LORD will give the peoples a pure lip to serve Him with one accord, the humble remnant will do no wrong, and Jerusalem will sing as the LORD rejoices over her with singing, mighty to save.
