Psalms 53 - Simple English

OriginalSimple EnglishSimpleNew Summary

Read Psalms Chapter 53

For the leader of the music, to a sad and mournful tune. A psalm of David for instruction and reflection.

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

1The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and they have done terrible wrong. There is no one who does good.

2God looked down from heaven on the children of men. He looked to see if there were any who understood, any who sought God.

3Every one of them has turned back. Together they have become filthy. There is no one who does good, no, not one.

4Have the workers of evil no knowledge? They eat up my people as they eat bread. They have not called on God.

5There they were in great fear, where there was nothing to fear. For God has scattered the bones of the one who camps against you. You have put them to shame, because God has rejected them.

6Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When God brings back his people from captivity, Jacob will rejoice, and Israel will be glad.
