The heavens tell of the glory of God; the sky shows the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour out speech; night after night they show knowledge.
There is no speech and no language where their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set up a tent for the sun,
which is like a bridegroom coming out of his room, and rejoices like a strong man to run a race.
It goes out from one end of the heavens, and travels round to the other end. Nothing is hidden from its heat.
The law of the LORD is perfect, turning the soul back to him. The testimony of the LORD is sure, making the simple wise.
The statutes of the LORD are right, making the heart glad. The commandment of the LORD is pure, giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the LORD is clean, lasting for ever. The judgments of the LORD are true, and every one of them is righteous.
They are to be desired more than gold, more than much fine gold. They are sweeter than honey, sweeter than honey from the comb.
By them your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward.
Who can understand his own mistakes? Cleanse me from the faults I cannot see.
Keep your servant back from bold sins as well; do not let them rule over me. Then I will be upright, and I will be innocent of the great wrongdoing.
Let the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart please you, O LORD, my strength and my redeemer.
