OriginalSimple EnglishSimpleNew Summary

Read Psalms Chapter 12

For the leader of the music, in a low setting. A psalm of David.

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

1Help, LORD; for the godly man is gone. The faithful have vanished from among the children of men.

2They speak empty words, each one to his neighbour. With flattering lips and a double heart they speak.

3The LORD will cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things.

4They have said, "With our tongue we will win; our lips are our own. Who is lord over us?"

5"Because the poor are crushed, because the needy groan, now I will rise up," says the LORD. "I will set him in safety from the one who puffs at him."

6The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver tested in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

7You will keep them, O LORD. You will preserve them from this generation for ever.

8The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are lifted high.
