Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge. But the one who hates correction is like an animal.
A good man receives favour from the LORD. But a man with wicked plans he will condemn.
No one is made secure by wickedness. But the root of the righteous will not be moved.
A good wife is a crown to her husband. But a wife who brings shame is like rot in his bones.
The thoughts of the righteous are right. But the advice of the wicked is deceit.
The words of the wicked lie in wait to shed blood. But the mouth of the upright will rescue them.
The wicked are overthrown, and they are gone. But the house of the righteous will stand.
A man is praised for his wisdom. But the one with a twisted heart is despised.
Better to be looked down on and have a servant than to honour yourself and have no bread.
A righteous man cares for the life of his animal. But even the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.
The one who works his land will have plenty of bread. But the one who chases after worthless people has no sense.
The wicked man wants what evil men catch in their net. But the root of the righteous bears fruit.
The wicked man is trapped by the sin of his own lips. But the just will come out of trouble.
A man will be filled with good things by the fruit of his mouth. And what a man's hands have done will be paid back to him.
The way of a fool seems right in his own eyes. But the one who listens to advice is wise.
A fool's anger is known at once. But a sensible man covers up an insult.
The one who speaks truth shows what is righteous. But a false witness speaks deceit.
There are people whose words stab like a sword. But the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Truthful lips will last for ever. But a lying tongue lasts only a moment.
Deceit is in the heart of those who plan evil. But those who counsel peace have joy.
No evil will happen to the just. But the wicked will be full of trouble.
Lying lips are detestable to the LORD. But those who act truthfully are his delight.
A sensible man keeps his knowledge to himself. But the heart of fools shouts out foolishness.
The hand of the hard worker will rule. But the lazy will be put to forced labour.
A heavy heart makes a man bow down. But a good word makes it glad.
The righteous man is better than his neighbour. But the way of the wicked leads them astray.
The lazy man does not roast what he caught in hunting. But the wealth of a hard worker is precious.
In the way of righteousness there is life, and along that path there is no death.
