The LORD spoke to Moses. He said,
"Speak to the children of Israel and say to them: When a man makes a special vow, the people shall belong to the LORD at the value you set."
"Your valuation for a male from twenty years old to sixty years old shall be fifty shekels of silver, by the shekel of the sanctuary."
"If it is a female, your valuation shall be thirty shekels."
"If the person is from five years old to twenty years old, your valuation shall be twenty shekels for a male, and ten shekels for a female."
"If the person is from a month old to five years old, your valuation shall be five shekels of silver for a male, and three shekels of silver for a female."
"If the person is sixty years old or more, your valuation shall be fifteen shekels for a male, and ten shekels for a female."
"But if he is too poor to pay your valuation, he shall be brought before the priest, and the priest shall set his value. The priest shall value him according to what the one who made the vow can afford."
"If it is an animal such as people bring as an offering to the LORD, everything anyone gives of these to the LORD shall be holy."
"He shall not alter it or exchange it, a good one for a bad one, or a bad one for a good one. If he does exchange one animal for another, then both it and its exchange shall be holy."
"If it is any unclean animal, of the kind that is not offered as a sacrifice to the LORD, then he shall bring the animal before the priest."
"The priest shall set its value, whether it is good or bad. As you, the priest, value it, so it shall be."
"But if he wants to redeem it, he shall add a fifth to your valuation."
"When a man sets apart his house as holy to the LORD, the priest shall value it, whether it is good or bad. As the priest values it, so it shall stand."
"If the man who set it apart wants to redeem his house, he shall add a fifth of the money of your valuation to it, and the house shall be his."
"If a man sets apart to the LORD part of a field that he owns, your valuation shall be according to the seed needed for it. A homer of barley seed shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver."
"If he sets apart his field from the year of jubile, it shall stand at your valuation."
"But if he sets apart his field after the jubile, the priest shall work out the money for him according to the years that are left until the year of jubile, and it shall be taken off your valuation."
"If the man who set apart the field wants to redeem it, he shall add a fifth of the money of your valuation to it, and it shall be made sure to him."
"If he does not redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it cannot be redeemed any more."
"But when the field is released in the jubile, it shall be holy to the LORD, like a field that is devoted. It shall belong to the priest."
"If a man sets apart to the LORD a field that he has bought, which is not part of the land he owns,"
"then the priest shall work out for him the amount of your valuation up to the year of jubile. On that day he shall give your valuation as a holy thing to the LORD."
"In the year of jubile the field shall go back to the man it was bought from, to the one who owned the land."
"All your valuations shall be by the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs to the shekel."
"But no one shall set apart the firstborn of the animals, because the firstborn already belongs to the LORD. Whether it is an ox or a sheep, it is the LORD's."
"If it is an unclean animal, he shall redeem it at your valuation and add a fifth to it. If it is not redeemed, it shall be sold at your valuation."
"But nothing devoted, which a man devotes to the LORD out of all that he has, whether person or animal or field that he owns, may be sold or redeemed. Every devoted thing is most holy to the LORD."
"No person who is devoted may be redeemed. He shall surely be put to death."
"All the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD's. It is holy to the LORD."
"If a man wants to redeem any of his tithes, he shall add a fifth to it."
"As for the tithe of the herd or of the flock, whatever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to the LORD."
"He shall not look to see whether it is good or bad, and he shall not exchange it. If he does exchange it, then both it and its exchange shall be holy. It shall not be redeemed."
These are the commandments which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel on mount Sinai.
