Read Job Chapter 40

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

Then the LORD answered Job, and said,

"Shall the man who argues with the Almighty correct him? Let the man who accuses God answer it."

Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

"Look, I am worthless. What shall I answer you? I will lay my hand over my mouth."

"Once I have spoken, but I will not answer. Yes, twice, but I will say no more."

Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

"Get ready now like a man. I will question you, and you shall tell me the answers."

Will you even cancel my judgment? Will you condemn me, so that you may be righteous?

Do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like his?

Dress yourself now with majesty and splendour. Clothe yourself with glory and beauty.

Pour out the rage of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him down.

Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him. Trample the wicked where they stand.

Hide them all together in the dust. Bind their faces in a hidden place.

Then I myself will admit to you that your own right hand can save you.

Look now at behemoth, which I made along with you. He eats grass like an ox.

See now, his strength is in his hips, and his power is in the muscles of his belly.

He moves his tail like a cedar. The sinews of his thighs are woven together.

His bones are like strong pieces of bronze. His bones are like bars of iron.

He is the chief of the works of God. The one who made him can bring his sword near to him.

Surely the mountains bring him food, where all the beasts of the field play.

He lies under the shady trees, hidden among the reeds and the marshes.

The shady trees cover him with their shadow. The willows of the brook surround him.

Look, he drinks up a river, and is not alarmed. He is confident that he can pull the Jordan into his mouth.

"He takes it with his eyes. His nose pierces through traps."
