In the last days the mountain of the LORD's house will be set up as the highest of the mountains. It will be lifted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it.
Many peoples will go and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths." For the law will go out from Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
He will judge between the nations, and will settle the arguments of many peoples. They will beat their swords into plough blades, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, and they will not learn war any more.
House of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the LORD.
So you have left your people, the house of Jacob. For they are filled with ways from the east, and they tell fortunes like the Philistines, and they take pleasure in the children of foreigners.
Their land is full of silver and gold, and there is no end to their treasures. Their land is full of horses, and there is no end to their chariots.
Their land is full of idols too. They worship the work of their own hands, the things their own fingers have made.
The lowly man bows down, and the great man humbles himself. So do not forgive them.
Go into the rock, and hide yourself in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty.
The proud looks of man will be humbled, and the pride of men will be bowed down. The LORD alone will be lifted high on that day.
For the day of the LORD of hosts will come against everyone who is proud and high, and against everyone who is lifted up. He will be brought low.
It will come against all the cedars of Lebanon, tall and lifted up, and against all the oaks of Bashan,
and against all the high mountains, and against all the hills that are lifted up,
and against every high tower, and against every strong wall,
and against all the ships of Tarshish, and against all the lovely pictures.
The pride of man will be bowed down, and the pride of men will be brought low. The LORD alone will be lifted high on that day.
And he will completely do away with the idols.
They will go into the holes in the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he rises up to shake the earth terribly.
On that day a man will throw away his idols of silver and his idols of gold, which they made, each one for himself to worship. He will throw them to the moles and to the bats.
He will go into the cracks in the rocks, and into the tops of the jagged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he rises up to shake the earth terribly.
Stop trusting in man, whose breath is in his nostrils. What is he worth?
