Read Ezekiel Chapter 6

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

The word of the LORD came to me. He said,

"Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them."

"Say, 'You mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD. This is what the Lord GOD says to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys: Look, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places."

"'Your altars will be left empty, and your images will be broken. I will throw down your dead men in front of your idols."

"'I will lay the dead bodies of the children of Israel in front of their idols, and I will scatter your bones all around your altars."

"'In all the places where you live the cities will be laid waste, and the high places will be left empty. So your altars will be laid waste and left empty, and your idols will be broken and come to an end, and your images will be cut down, and the things you made will be wiped away."

"'The dead will fall in the middle of you, and you will know that I am the LORD."

"'Yet I will leave some alive. Among the nations some of you will escape the sword, when you are scattered through the countries."

"'Those of you who escape will remember me among the nations where they are carried away as captives. For I am broken by their unfaithful heart, which has turned away from me, and by their eyes, which go chasing after their idols. They will hate themselves for the evils they have done in all their disgusting practices."

"'And they will know that I am the LORD, and that I did not say for nothing that I would bring this evil upon them.'"

"This is what the Lord GOD says: Strike with your hand, and stamp with your foot, and say, 'Alas for all the evil and disgusting practices of the house of Israel! For they will fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the plague.'"

"The one who is far off will die of the plague. The one who is near will fall by the sword. The one who is left and is shut in by the siege will die by the famine. In this way I will finish pouring out my fury upon them."

"Then you will know that I am the LORD, when their dead men lie among their idols all around their altars, on every high hill, on all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the places where they offered a sweet smell to all their idols."

"So I will stretch out my hand against them, and make the land empty. Yes, it will be emptier than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all the places where they live. And they will know that I am the LORD."
