The word of the LORD came to me. He said:
"Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. Prophesy against him,"
and say, 'This is what the Lord GOD says: Look, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.
I will turn you back. I will put hooks into your jaws. I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them dressed in every kind of armour, a great company with small shields and large shields, all of them holding swords.
Persia, Ethiopia and Libya are with them, all of them with shield and helmet;
Gomer and all his troops, the house of Togarmah from the far north and all his troops, and many peoples with you.
Be ready. Prepare yourself, you and all your company that are gathered to you, and be a guard for them.
After many days you will be called to arms. In the later years you will come into the land that has been brought back from the sword, whose people were gathered out of many nations onto the mountains of Israel, which had long lain waste. Its people were brought out from the nations, and all of them live safely.
You will go up and come like a storm. You will be like a cloud covering the land, you and all your troops, and many peoples with you.
This is what the Lord GOD says: At that time things will come into your mind, and you will think an evil thought.
You will say, "I will go up to the land of villages without walls. I will go to the people who are at rest, who live safely, all of them living without walls, and having no bars and no gates,"
"to take plunder and to seize spoil, to turn my hand against the ruined places that are lived in again, and against the people gathered out of the nations, who have cattle and goods, and who live in the middle of the land."
Sheba and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish with all its young lions, will say to you, "Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your company to seize spoil, to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take great plunder?"'
"So, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, 'This is what the Lord GOD says: On that day, when my people Israel live safely, will you not know it?"
You will come from your place out of the far north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army.
You will come up against my people Israel like a cloud covering the land. It will be in the last days, and I will bring you against my land, so that the nations may know me, when I show myself holy through you, Gog, before their eyes.
This is what the Lord GOD says: Are you the one I spoke about long ago through my servants the prophets of Israel? For years in those days they prophesied that I would bring you against them.
On that day, when Gog comes against the land of Israel, says the Lord GOD, my fury will rise up in my face.
In my jealousy and in the fire of my anger I have spoken: Surely on that day there will be a great shaking in the land of Israel.
The fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the animals of the field, all the creeping things that creep on the earth, and all the people who are on the face of the earth will shake at my presence. The mountains will be thrown down, the steep places will fall, and every wall will fall to the ground.
I will call for a sword against him on all my mountains, says the Lord GOD. Every man's sword will be against his brother.
I will bring judgment on him with plague and with blood. I will rain on him, and on his troops, and on the many peoples that are with him, a flooding rain, and great hailstones, fire and burning sulphur.
"So I will make myself great, and show myself holy. I will make myself known in the eyes of many nations, and they will know that I am the LORD.'"
