"Bring to yourself Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel. They are to serve me as priests: Aaron, and Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar."
"Make holy garments for your brother Aaron, for glory and for beauty."
"Speak to all who are wise in heart, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom. They are to make Aaron's garments, to set him apart, so that he may serve me as priest."
"These are the garments they shall make: a breastplate, an ephod, a robe, an embroidered coat, a turban, and a sash. They shall make holy garments for your brother Aaron and for his sons, so that he may serve me as priest."
"They shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen."
"They shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, of purple, of scarlet, and of fine twisted linen, skilfully worked."
"It shall have two shoulder pieces joined at its two edges, and so it shall be joined together."
"The finely worked band of the ephod, which is on it, shall be of the same material and the same work: of gold, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twisted linen."
"Take two onyx stones, and carve on them the names of the children of Israel:"
"six of their names on one stone, and the six names that remain on the other stone, in the order of their birth."
"With the work of a stone engraver, like the engraving of a seal, you shall engrave the two stones with the names of the children of Israel. You shall set them in settings of gold."
"Put the two stones on the shoulders of the ephod, as stones of remembrance for the children of Israel. Aaron shall carry their names before the LORD on his two shoulders, as a remembrance."
"You shall make settings of gold,"
and two chains of pure gold at the ends. Make them of twisted work, and fasten the twisted chains to the settings.
"Make the breastplate of judgment, skilfully worked. Make it like the work of the ephod: of gold, of blue, of purple, of scarlet, and of fine twisted linen."
"It shall be square when folded double: a span long and a span wide."
"Set in it settings of stones, four rows of stones. The first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle. This shall be the first row."
"The second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond."
"The third row shall be a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst."
"The fourth row shall be a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper. They shall be set in gold in their settings."
"The stones shall carry the names of the children of Israel, twelve, one for each name. Each shall be engraved like a seal with its own name, for the twelve tribes."
"On the breastplate make chains at the ends, of twisted work of pure gold."
"On the breastplate make two rings of gold, and put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate."
"Put the two twisted chains of gold in the two rings that are on the ends of the breastplate."
"The other two ends of the two twisted chains you shall fasten in the two settings, and put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod, at the front of it."
"Make two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, on its edge, which is on the inner side of the ephod."
"Make two more rings of gold, and put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the front of it, near its join, above the finely worked band of the ephod."
"They shall tie the breastplate by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a blue cord, so that it stays above the finely worked band of the ephod, and so that the breastplate does not come loose from the ephod."
"Aaron shall carry the names of the children of Israel over his heart in the breastplate of judgment when he goes into the holy place, as a remembrance before the LORD always."
"Put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim. They shall be over Aaron's heart when he goes in before the LORD. So Aaron shall carry the judgment of the children of Israel over his heart before the LORD always."
"Make the robe of the ephod all of blue."
"There shall be an opening in the top of it, in the middle. Around the opening there shall be a woven binding, like the opening of a coat of armour, so that it does not tear."
"On the hem below, make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, all around the hem, with bells of gold between them all around:"
a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, all around the hem of the robe.
"Aaron shall wear it when he serves. Its sound shall be heard when he goes into the holy place before the LORD, and when he comes out, so that he does not die."
"Make a plate of pure gold, and carve on it, like the engraving of a seal, HOLINESS TO THE LORD."
"Put it on a blue cord, so that it may be on the turban. It shall be on the front of the turban."
"It shall be on Aaron's forehead, so that Aaron may carry the guilt of the holy things which the children of Israel set apart in all their holy gifts. It shall always be on his forehead, so that they may be accepted before the LORD."
"Embroider the coat of fine linen. Make the turban of fine linen, and make the sash of needlework."
"For Aaron's sons make coats, and make sashes for them, and make headpieces for them, for glory and for beauty."
"Put them on your brother Aaron, and on his sons with him. Anoint them, and set them apart, and make them holy, so that they may serve me as priests."
"Make them linen trousers to cover their naked flesh. They shall reach from the waist to the thighs."
"Aaron and his sons shall wear them when they come into the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near the altar to serve in the holy place, so that they do not carry guilt and die. This shall be a law for ever for him and for his descendants after him."
