2 Thessalonians 2 - Summary

Original Summary

Read 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2 Summary

Paul addresses the unsettling claim that the day of the Lord has already come, warning them not to be deceived by spirit, word, or epistle supposedly from him, for that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of sin (son of perdition) is revealed, who opposes and exalts himself above all called God, sitting in God's temple displaying himself as God. The mystery of lawlessness already works but is restrained until the restrainer is removed, then the lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will consume with His mouth's breath and destroy with His coming's brightness.
