Read 1 Peter Chapter 4

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

So then, since Christ suffered for us in the body, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking. For the one who has suffered in the body has finished with sin.

So he should live the rest of his time in the body no longer for the desires of men, but for the will of God.

The past time of our life is enough for us to have done what the Gentiles want. Then we walked in shameless living, in evil desires, in too much wine, in wild parties and drinking, and in disgusting worship of idols.

They think it strange that you do not run with them into the same wild living, and they speak evil of you.

They will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

This is why the gospel was preached also to those who are dead: so that they might be judged in the body as men are judged, but live in the spirit as God lives.

But the end of all things is near. So be sensible, and keep watch so that you can pray.

Above all things, have deep love among yourselves, for love will cover a great number of sins.

Welcome one another into your homes without complaining.

Each of you has received a gift. Use it to serve one another, as good managers of the many kinds of grace God gives.

If anyone speaks, let him speak as one who speaks the words of God. If anyone serves, let him do it with the strength that God gives. Then in all things God will be given glory through Jesus Christ. To him be praise and power for ever and ever. Amen.

Dear friends, do not think it strange when a fiery trial comes to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.

Instead be glad, because you share in the sufferings of Christ. Then, when his glory is shown, you may be glad with very great joy.

If people insult you because of the name of Christ, you are blessed. For the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. They speak evil of him, but you give him glory.

But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or someone who meddles in other people's business.

Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed. Let him give glory to God for this name.

For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God. And if it begins with us first, what will the end be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

And if the righteous person is only just saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?

So then, let those who suffer according to the will of God trust the keeping of their souls to him while they do good, for he is a faithful Creator.
