Shadrach (Hebrew name Hananiah) was one of the three young Jewish nobles taken to Babylon with Daniel. Along with Meshach and Abednego, he refused to worship Nebuchadnezzar's golden image and was thrown into a fiery furnace, where God miraculously protected them.
