Enoch The Man Who Walked with God and Was Not
About Enoch
Enoch is the seventh from Adam and the only man in the line before the flood of whom Genesis does not say that he died. Twice the chapter says he walked with God, and then that he was not, for God took him. He lived 365 years, fewer than any of his fathers, and left Methuselah, the longest-lived man in Scripture.

A Life Measured by Company
The chapter counts everyone else in years and ends each of them with and he died. Enoch is counted the same way until the last line, which reports not a length but a companion. What is said of him is not that he achieved something but that he kept walking with someone.
