Read Song of Solomon Chapter 8

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

If only you were like my brother, who fed at my mother's breasts. Then if I found you outside, I would kiss you, and no one would despise me.

I would lead you and bring you into my mother's house, and she would teach me. I would give you spiced wine to drink, the juice of my pomegranate.

His left hand would be under my head, and his right hand would hold me close.

Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you: do not stir up my love, and do not wake him, until he pleases.

Who is this coming up from the wilderness, leaning on the one she loves? I woke you under the apple tree. There your mother gave you birth; there she who bore you gave you birth.

Set me like a seal upon your heart, like a seal upon your arm. For love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave. Its coals are coals of fire, with a fierce and burning flame.

Many waters cannot put out love, and the floods cannot drown it. If a man gave all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly despised.

We have a little sister, and she has no breasts. What shall we do for our sister on the day when someone asks for her?

If she is a wall, we will build on her a palace of silver. If she is a door, we will shut her in with boards of cedar.

I am a wall, and my breasts are like towers. So in his eyes I was like one who found favour.

Solomon had a vineyard at Baalhamon. He let the vineyard out to keepers. Each one was to bring a thousand pieces of silver for its fruit.

My own vineyard is before me. Solomon, you must have your thousand, and those who keep its fruit two hundred.

You who live in the gardens, your companions listen for your voice. Let me hear it.

Hurry, my beloved. Be like a gazelle or a young deer on the mountains of spices.
