Psalms 85 - Simple English

OriginalSimple EnglishSimpleNew Summary

Read Psalms Chapter 85

For the leader of the music. A psalm for the sons of Korah.

Up and down arrows move from one verse to the next.

1LORD, you have been kind to your land. You have brought back the captives of Jacob.

2You have forgiven the wrongdoing of your people. You have covered all their sin. Selah.

3You have taken away all your wrath. You have turned yourself from the fierceness of your anger.

4Turn us back, O God of our salvation. Make your anger toward us stop.

5Will you be angry with us for ever? Will you stretch out your anger to all generations?

6Will you not give us life again, so that your people may rejoice in you?

7Show us your mercy, O LORD, and grant us your salvation.

8I will hear what God the LORD will say. He will speak peace to his people, and to those who belong to him. But let them not turn back to folly.

9Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, so that glory may live in our land.

10Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

11Truth will spring up out of the earth, and righteousness will look down from heaven.

12Yes, the LORD will give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest.

13Righteousness will go before him, and will set us in the way of his steps.
