Do you really speak righteousness, you congregation? Do you judge people fairly, you sons of men?
No, in your heart you plan wickedness. Your hands deal out violence in the land, and you weigh it out.
The wicked go their own way from the womb. They wander off as soon as they are born, speaking lies.
Their poison is like the poison of a snake. They are like a deaf adder that stops up its ear.
It will not listen to the voice of charmers, however skilfully they charm.
Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth. Break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.
Let them melt away like water that runs on and on. When he bends his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as if cut in pieces.
Let every one of them pass away like a snail that melts away, like a child born dead, who never sees the sun.
Before your pots can feel the burning thorns, he will sweep them away as with a whirlwind, both the living and the burning, in his anger.
The righteous will rejoice when he sees vengeance done. He will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
So people will say, "Truly there is a reward for the righteous. Truly there is a God who judges in the earth."
