O LORD, you are my God. I will lift you high; I will praise your name. For you have done wonderful things. Your plans made long ago are faithfulness and truth.
For you have made a city into a heap of stones, a walled city into a ruin. The palace of strangers is no longer a city; it will never be built again.
So the strong people will give you glory. The city of the terrifying nations will fear you.
For you have been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his trouble, a shelter from the storm, a shade from the heat. For the blast of the terrifying ones is like a storm against the wall.
You will bring down the noise of strangers, as heat is brought down in a dry place, as heat is brought down by the shadow of a cloud. The song of the terrifying ones will be brought low.
On this mountain the LORD of hosts will make a feast for all peoples: a feast of rich food, a feast of aged wines, of rich food full of marrow, of aged wines well strained.
And on this mountain he will destroy the covering that is thrown over all peoples, and the veil that is spread over all nations.
He will swallow up death in victory. And the Lord GOD will wipe away the tears from every face. He will take away the shame of his people from all the earth, for the LORD has spoken it.
And on that day it will be said, "Look, this is our God. We have waited for him, and he will save us. This is the LORD; we have waited for him. We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation."
For on this mountain the hand of the LORD will rest, and Moab will be trampled down under him, as straw is trampled down in the dung heap.
And he will spread out his hands in the middle of them, as a swimmer spreads out his hands to swim. And he will bring down their pride, together with the plunder their hands have taken.
And the strong high walls of your fort he will bring down. He will lay them low, and bring them to the ground, down to the dust.
