Paul, an apostle. I was not sent by men, and not through any man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead.
All the brothers and sisters who are with me join me. To the churches of Galatia:
Grace be to you, and peace, from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ.
He gave himself for our sins, to rescue us from this present evil world. This was the will of God, our Father,
to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
I am amazed that you are turning away so quickly from the one who called you into the grace of Christ, and going to a different gospel.
It is not really another gospel. But there are some who are troubling you, and who want to twist the gospel of Christ.
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach to you any gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be cursed.
As we said before, so I say now again: if anyone preaches to you any gospel other than the one you received, let him be cursed.
Am I now trying to win people over, or God? Am I trying to please people? If I were still pleasing people, I would not be the servant of Christ.
But I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not something human.
I did not receive it from any man, and no one taught it to me. It came by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
You have heard how I behaved in the past in the Jews' religion. I persecuted the church of God beyond all measure, and tried to destroy it.
In the Jews' religion I went further than many of my own age in my nation. I was far more eager for the traditions of my fathers.
But God set me apart from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace. When it pleased him
to reveal his Son in me, so that I might preach him among the nations, I did not at once talk it over with flesh and blood.
I did not go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me. Instead I went into Arabia, and then returned to Damascus.
I saw none of the other apostles, except James, the Lord's brother.
Now about the things I am writing to you: look, before God, I am not lying.
Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
The churches of Judaea that were in Christ did not know my face.
They had only heard people say, "The man who once persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy."
And they gave glory to God because of me.
