So I urge, first of all, that requests, prayers, pleas for others, and thanksgiving be made for all people;
for kings, and for all who are in authority. Then we may live a quiet and peaceful life, godly and honest in every way.
For this is good, and it pleases God our Saviour,
who wants all people to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and human beings, the man Christ Jesus,
who gave himself as a ransom for all. This was to be witnessed to at the right time.
For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I speak the truth in Christ, and do not lie), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
So I want the men to pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without anger and without doubting.
In the same way I want the women to dress in modest clothing, with modesty and self-control. They should not use braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or expensive clothes,
but good works, which are right for women who say they serve God.
Let the woman learn in silence, and be fully willing to submit.
But I do not allow a woman to teach, or to take authority over the man. She is to be silent.
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived, and so fell into sin.
Yet she will be saved through childbearing, if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.
