1 Peter 2 - Summary

As newborn babes desiring sincere milk of the word, believers come to Christ the living stone rejected by men but chosen and precious before God, and are themselves built as living stones into a spiritual house, a holy priesthood offering spiritual sacrifices. They are a chosen generation, royal priesthood, holy nation, peculiar people called from darkness into marvelous light—once not a people but now God's people, once without mercy but now having obtained mercy. Instructions follow for submission to governmental authorities, servants to masters (even harsh ones) after Christ's example of suffering without retaliation, and recognition that by His stripes they were healed and have returned to the Shepherd of their souls.
