Goliath was a giant warrior from Gath who stood over nine feet tall. He challenged the Israelite army for forty days, defying Israel and their God. The young shepherd David, armed only with a sling and five stones, accepted the challenge and defeated him with a single stone to the forehead, demonstrating that victory comes from the Lord, not from weapons or physical strength.
