Water from the rock EXO 17:6
At Rephidim there is no water at all, and the quarrel turns ugly enough that Moses says the people are almost ready to stone him. God tells him to go on ahead with the elders, take the staff that struck the Nile, and strike a rock at Horeb. Water comes out and the people drink. Moses names the place for the quarrel and the testing, because they had asked whether the Lord was among them or not.

The place

Rephidim was a crucial encampment site in the wilderness where the Israelites camped during their journey from Egypt to Mount Sinai. It was here that Moses struck the rock to provide water for the thirsty people, and where Joshua led Israel's first military victory against the Amalekites while Moses held up his hands in prayer.
