The feeding of the five thousand LUK 9:16
The crowd has followed him into a lonely place and it is getting late. The disciples do the arithmetic and conclude it cannot be done: eight months' wages would not buy enough. A boy has five barley loaves and two small fish. Jesus has everyone sit down in groups on the grass, gives thanks, and the food keeps coming. Five thousand men eat, besides women and children, and twelve baskets of pieces are gathered so that nothing is wasted.

18And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?
19They answering said, John the Baptist; but some {say}, Elias; and others {say}, that one of the old prophets is risen again.
20He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.
