New Jerusalem
CityThe New Jerusalem is the heavenly city that descends from God at the end of time, described in Revelation 21-22. It represents the ultimate fulfillment of God's plan for humanity—a perfect dwelling place where God lives among His people forever. The city has twelve gates named for the twelve tribes of Israel and twelve foundations bearing the names of the twelve apostles. Its streets are gold, its gates are pearls, and there is no need for sun or moon because the glory of God illuminates it. There is no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
