CanaanCanaan was the Promised Land, the territory God promised to Abraham and his descendants. It stretched from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. The Israelites conquered Canaan under Joshua after the Exodus. The land was divided among the twelve tribes of Israel.
CapernaumCapernaum was a fishing village on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee that became the center of Jesus' Galilean ministry. Dead SeaThe Dead Sea, also called the Salt Sea in the Bible, is the lowest point on Earth. Its extremely high salt content makes it impossible for most life to exist. The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were located near its southern end before God destroyed them. Lot's wife famously became a pillar of salt when she looked back during their escape.
DothanDothan was a city in the hill country of Israel. Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery here. Later, when the Aramean army surrounded Dothan to capture Elisha, God opened his servant's eyes to see the hills filled with horses and chariots of fire protecting them.
